MEDPORTS Association and the Commitment of the Port of Algeciras to Mediterranean Cooperation

The MEDports Association is an organization created by 29 Mediterranean ports with the goal of improving cooperation among member ports to address new international logistical and commercial challenges, as well as highlighting the key position and importance of the Mediterranean in new global cargo flows. Today, the MEDports Association brings together 23 port authorities.

The main objectives of this Association are to facilitate the creation of new maritime trade links between Mediterranean ports through data exchange and collaboration in implementing sustainable, safe, and efficient transport corridors; to promote and support the interests of Mediterranean Ports in front of international organizations and institutions; and to study issues related to port activities and/or the port and maritime sector in the context of international treaties or regulations, with a focus on the impacts on the Mediterranean.
