The Port of Algeciras Bay is a primary hub on both the Mediterranean and Atlantic Core Networks of the Trans-European Transport Network. The rail link to the Port of Algeciras Bay via the Algeciras-Bobadilla-Madrid railway line has been declared a double priority by the European Commission and EU Parliament on passing the “Connecting Europe Facility” regulations (EU Nº 1316/2013) and the Trans-European Transport Network Guidelines.
