Access World Carrasco, a joint venture formed by the multinational logistics company Access World and the century-old port business, Carrasco Family, has inaugurated its new warehouse in Algeciras this week. This milestone strengthens a long-standing commercial relationship, now materialized in a shared commitment to growth at one of the European Union’s key ports.

The opening ceremony was attended by various local authorities, company representatives and a group of clients and strategic partners. The new facility, strategically located at the Port of Algeciras, has been designed to optimize logistics processes and enhance storage and distribution capacity.

Covering a total area of 8,791 m², the facility consists of three covered warehouses and an open-air yard. Two of the warehouses are equipped with seven-level racking systems, while the third offers space for general cargo and features an overhead crane for heavy cargo handling. Outfitted with state-of-the-art technology, the new Access World Carrasco warehouse in Algeciras will enable the joint venture to provide more agile and efficient solutions to clients across the region while enhancing connectivity between international maritime routes and the evolving logistics needs of current and future customers.

During the event, Jeremy Carr, CEO of Access World, emphasized that “this day reaffirms our confidence in the Port of Algeciras and Spain as key players in the logistics and port storage market.”

Julio Carrasco, President of PJ Carrasco, highlighted that for a family business like his, “partnering with Access World feels like winning the lottery.” He explained that this project has been made possible thanks to the support of all involved.

Gerardo Landaluce, President of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), described this as one of the year’s “high points,” as it marks the fruition of years of hard work, resulting in a world-class logistics facility dedicated to the raw materials sector. Landaluce also noted that the Access World Carrasco project is already attracting new business activity to the Strait of Gibraltar’s docks and once again called for a “national strategy” to fully leverage Algeciras’ potential.

Finally, Mercedes Colombo, Delegate of the Andalusian Regional Government in Cádiz, stated that this project demonstrates “the legal stability and confidence we offer investors to believe in the province of Cádiz and Andalusia.

With its presence in Algeciras, Access World Carrasco is committed to reinforcing its leadership in the non-ferrous metals market in the Iberian Peninsula. It offers its clients the advantages of working with a company that seamlessly combines international reach with local expertise, Access World Carrasco.
